The ryokan with over 10,000 square meters of ground, is located in Shikotsu-Toya National Park, a verdant, primeval forest that exemplifies the forces of nature revered by Japanese. The centerpieces of the property include our gardens, legacy passed on through generations, magnificaent and ancient trees, and a great pond frequented by local and migratory birds.  Facility boasts twenty-three rooms, all of which are Suites with a Shikotsu-Toya National Park View Bath. Nothing is more soothing than soaking while experiencing arcadian life. Utilizing local material, such as the Japanese Mizunara oak along with ash trees, the exterior becomes the interior. Rooms also have Sapporo soft stone, which adds to a sophisticated, clean design. Renowned architect Hideyuki Hiramoto oversaw the hotel design, and of his creation, has said that he, “researched some materials and crafts produced locally and in Hokkaido, and then brought these influences together in a modern spatial design.” Surrounding the property is an array of lighting both evocative as well as calming. Dining experience features the Seasonal Flavors of Bountiful Hokkaido. Famous its kombu (seaweed), crab, matsutake mushrooms, and Nikka whisky, Hokkaido’s bounty also includes delicious fruits, vegetables, seafood, poultry and beef.
